Everything Yellow

Yellow seems to be everywhere today (Check out Style me Pretty and The Hostess with the Mostess). I thought I would revisit one of my favorite colors combinations before the weekend. Enjoy! Pictures courtesy of Jessica Claire's blog.

All the Details

Over at Faye and Greer, they recently wrote about Michelle Rago. I cannot help posting some of her pictures here. They are amazing. From the Bahamas with romantic lighting, to an equestrian themed celebration in New Jersey, every detail is covered. (My matron of honor is an equestrian and I told her that she and her husband have to renew their vows just like this! She happens to have extra horse shoes laying around her house - she is going home to make her own version of this basket tonight!).

New Website

We are currently updating our website for Lucky Designs. We wanted to give the site a face lift and make it a little easier to navigate. We are hoping to unveil the new site early next week. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Feel free to email ( eluckydesigns@gmail.com ) us in the meantime if you would like to place an order or receive a quote for a custom design order. Here is a sneak peak at our new website.

Save the Date Magnets

Anna recently contacted Lucky Designs for her April 2008 wedding. We worked together on save-the-date magnets. I think they turned out quite well, and I am looking forward to working with Anna and Shane on their invitations. Happy Planning!

{Guest Blog - Lupe} Baby Fever

I am very excited to introduce my mom. I will call her by her nickname that I gave her after 7th grade Spanish class - Lupe. Lupe has agreed to be a guest blogger. I wanted her to share her excitement about Lucky Designs and the baby on the way. So without further ado...

Learning I was going to be a grandmother was such sweet news. I am already thinking of all the books I want to share, places I want to visit, and adventures my grandchild and I will have baking, gardening and just following our imaginations. Visions of a baby shower, nurseries and soft cotton clothing are already swirling around my mind. I have begun "casually" interviewing young parents I run into concerning their satisfaction in regard to their stollers and car seats! Sites like the Polka Dot Patch Boutique are quickly becoming my new haunts. My daughter and I were looking forward to having a mother daughter blog, but have decided to focus on our family and our family business Lucky Designs. We want to enjoy every minute of her pregnancy, grow our business and just celebrate! If you have a baby or toddler in your life, check out the husband/wife author/illustrator team of Don and Audrey Wood. Their children's literature is remarkable. One of my favorites, The Napping House is about a granny trying to take a nap and will bring a smile to any day. I am stacking some of my favorite children's literature on my nightstand and looking into children's clothing lines that I loved for my children - Sweet Potatoes for instance. Check them out at PeekABooKids. Appreciate the opportunity for a guest blog.

Birthday

It has been a busy week! I will post pictures soon of recent projects - save the date magnets, and gatefold invitations. Today is my birthday, and my friends and family have already spoiled me rotten. I am looking forward to a pedicure and haircut at my favorite salon, making an adorable scrapbook for Lucky Baby, buying a new handbag with my birthday cash! Have a great weekend all.

Details

Another photographer that caught my eye today is Becker. I love the favors designed by the groom. .
The wrap makes this elegant bouquet unique. I love the monochromatic look.

Summer Fashion

I feel very fortunate to be pregnant during a season of fun, flirty, feminine styles. This summer has been full of babydoll dresses, trapeze dresses, and empire waisted tops. These are perfect styles for my current situation - very free flowing and easy to wear. I had to pick up this fun, retro top last night at Target. My mom was also kind enough to find this Banana Republic dress for me (in black). Also check out one of my favorite shopping blogs, Sharp Lily, for great deals.

Programs

As promised, here are a few pictures of Judi's programs. She wanted something very simple and modern to continue with her blue and brown theme. I took the same elements from her invitations to use on the programs. It is very exciting to see my husband's name "in lights" as the celebrant! He and I are very much looking forward to returning to Union Terminal - the location for our wedding.

Entertaining

My mom and I both love to entertain. When we entertain, it is always necessary to have a theme. Yes, we are a bit Martha Stewart-like. The end of the year is always fun, because there are many occasions for a get-togethers. I love these plates from Wishing Fish - they would be a great start to a retro themed Labor Day cookout!

Inspiration

I came across Michael Norwood's blog and just had to post some of his amazing photographs. Not only do I love pictures of the tables from a bird's eye view, but he also has several pictures of weddings that used black and white - my favorite color combination!

Sunflowers

My husband surprised me with sunflowers when he went to the store last night. They were so nice to look at while I ate breakfast this morning!

We had a big day yesterday. I had my first ultrasound. The baby, which is only 2 centimeters long, is doing well and had a heartbeat of 178!

Lucky Baby

I am very excited about our first baby. My mom and I have already enjoyed looking for ideas for a nursery. My husband and I still have not decided whether or not we are going to find out the sex of the child. (I think I would like to know.) As for decorating, here are a few ideas that have caught my eye so far...

Fall Preview

I use to love fall for the changing leaves, candy apples, and my friend Stefanie's apple crisp at Halloween. This year I have my 1st wedding anniversary to look forward to as well! J.Crew has a sneak peek at their fall line, and the clothes are adorable. I hope in a few more months, I will still fit into a few of these items! One the other hand, I have seen some pretty cute maternity clothes out there.

I also just took advantage of their summer sale and got this fun dress for an upcoming wedding.

In Full Bloom

July 7th, 2007 proved to be a wedding packed day. Photographers' blogs are full of beautiful pictures, but Amy Squire's blog caught my eye with these bold flowers. I love the colors of summer - bright and cheerful.
