Taco Bell

I recently saw this article on Digg. I thought it was certainly an interesting wedding location!

Wedding bells meant Taco Bell for Paul and Caragh Brooks.

Customers inside the fast-food restaurant continued to order tacos and burritos as the couple sat Friday in an orange booth at Taco Bell and exchanged vows. "It's appropriate," groom Paul Brooks said. "It's an offbeat relationship."

Employees displayed hot sauce packets labeled with the words "Will you marry me?" They decorated the restaurant with streamers and balloons. The bride wore a $15 hot pink dress and the entire wedding cost about $200. Several dozen guests looked on as the couple's friend, Ryan Green of Normal, administered the vows while wearing a T-shirt. He was ordained online.
"This is the way to go -- there's no stress," said the groom's mother, Kathy Brooks.

Make Melissa Pay!

If you have not read one of my previous posts about Let's Eat Cake, please read this one. Blog about Let's Eat Cake! on your blog or website (before January 12th, 2009), and MasterPiece Weddings will donate $1 for every site that mentions Let's Eat Cake! (and links to Let's Eat Cake's website) and their cause. Here is some additional information about Let's Eat Cake!

Masterpiece Weddings, an event coordination agency founded by Melissa Margarita-DiStefano, is working really hard to put on an amazing fundraiser in February called Let’s Eat Cake! - which will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - an incredible organization that’s dedicated to treating children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.Let’s Eat Cake! is a wedding cake competition, featuring Wedding Cake confections from all over the United States. Bakers will feature their cakes to be judged by Local and National Culinary Celebrities. In addition bakers will be asked to make enough cake to feed the general public, so that they may judge the cakes as well!

Our Goal is to raise $50,000 for this extremely worthy cause, we know times are tough for everyone out there. But that doesn't mean that doesn't mean that kids still aren't getting sick. Please help spread the word about our goal, and our mission. If you can help financially, that would be great, if you blogging about this right now.... your spreading the word - and that's all we can ask for!
Please blog today!

A Brand New Me

My first new goal of 2009...giving Lucky Me a completely new look. I am getting ready to move from Blogger to a new host. After much debate (and talking with Lucky Brother and Ally of Our Little Haus - thank you both), we are moving to Squarespace. I am so excited to add additional pages to our blog, and have our monograms available directly through Lucky Me! It looks like we will be ready by February 1st for new orders. I will keep you all up to date. In the meantime, here your first sneak peek.

Lucky Me is Fabulous...

says Dani of Weddings Fresh. Thank you Dani - what an incredible way to start the new year.

The rules: List 5 obsessions/addictions that you have, and tag back to the person who gave you the award. post the rules. tag 5 more people!

1. Making lists - I have a list for every day of the week, every aspect of my life. I love to use TaDa Lists, so I can be eco-friendly.

2. Coffee - I have to have one cup of coffee every morning. Even the day that Lucky Baby was born, I had a cup of coffee. I will spare you the specifics, but I will say that I stood in my bath tub, having contractions, drinking my coffee!

3. Coupons - You will never see me buy a pack of diapers without a coupon!

4. Themes - Not matter what the occasion, I love to have a theme. I drive my husband crazy, but he laughs and humors me all the time. The holidays this year was all about pine cones and polka dots. My next theme... Daisies for my daughter's birthday party.

5. Lastly, kitchen gadgets. I can never have too many. If Bobby Flay uses it - I want it! I just love making pesto in my food processor, or making guacamole using my avocado slicer.

Tag... You are it!

Welcome 2009!

Thank you all for a wonderful year. I have greatly enjoyed my year of blogging. A new improved Lucky Me is already in the works for 2009. Blogger has been extremely good to us, but we are growing and need A LOT more room! I am so lucky, and I am so excited to have one more special person to kiss at midnight this year. (Although, she hopefully will be in bed!) Happy New Year!
