Make sure you stop by Vintage Glam and check out their Flea Market!

What is it: Free local wedding classifieds. You can browse by state and by city. There are no fees, and there is no subscription required. Users also have the option to state whether their items can be shipped or are available for pick up as well.

Why: to help brides cut their wedding costs, newlyweds recoup some of their wedding budget, and to get in the spirit of recycling, reusing and reducing.

How it works: choose your category, your area then start describing what you’re selling. It will ask you if you’re willing to will internationally, ship to the U.S only or if it’s only available for pick up (great for heavy or fragile items such as vases). You can upload up to 4 pictures no larger than 600×600pixels. There is also the option to publish your email address to the public or let users email you through a contact form that is visible on your ad page (recommended). This option keeps your email address anonymous.

Stop by the new and improved Elizabeth Anne Designs! There are new fantastic features like a community and bulletin boards!

Make Melissa Pay!

If you have not read one of my previous posts about Let's Eat Cake, please read this one. Blog about Let's Eat Cake! on your blog or website (before January 12th, 2009), and MasterPiece Weddings will donate $1 for every site that mentions Let's Eat Cake! (and links to Let's Eat Cake's website) and their cause. Here is some additional information about Let's Eat Cake!

Masterpiece Weddings, an event coordination agency founded by Melissa Margarita-DiStefano, is working really hard to put on an amazing fundraiser in February called Let’s Eat Cake! - which will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - an incredible organization that’s dedicated to treating children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.Let’s Eat Cake! is a wedding cake competition, featuring Wedding Cake confections from all over the United States. Bakers will feature their cakes to be judged by Local and National Culinary Celebrities. In addition bakers will be asked to make enough cake to feed the general public, so that they may judge the cakes as well!

Our Goal is to raise $50,000 for this extremely worthy cause, we know times are tough for everyone out there. But that doesn't mean that doesn't mean that kids still aren't getting sick. Please help spread the word about our goal, and our mission. If you can help financially, that would be great, if you blogging about this right now.... your spreading the word - and that's all we can ask for!

Gorgeously Green

I try and make a conscientious effort every day to be "green". My husband helps me a lot with this by hounding me about my recycling - thank you babe! My mom recently supported my efforts as well with this book for my birthday - Gorgeously Green. I love this book for its wide range of tips and advice. From makeup to household cleaning to baby! In the wedding blog world, you of course must stop by Eco-Chic Weddings for wonderful resources. Are you "going green" for your wedding? {For more green tips check out the 30 of the Best Eco Sites on the Web}

"Green" Flowers

Thanks to Google Reader, I came across the Crafty Crow. There are wonderful ideas for future projects with my daughter, but this paper flower seemed perfect for an intimate, backyard wedding. With recycled paper, it would even be kind to the environment.

Save the Date for Cake

Last week I gave you a sneak peek of the Let's Eat Cake save the dates. Melissa recently posted this picture over on the blog for Let's Eat Cake, so I thought I would share as well. The portable pocket was perfect to showcase the logo with a wrap around label. They are being mailed in crystal clear envelopes, which is a new favorite element of mine. I am so honored to be involved in an event with such a wonderful cause.

Happy Earth Day

I was tagged by katelynjane, so here goes...

Here are the rules:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

The facts:
  • I have always loved Graeter's Ice Cream, but I have to confess...I now only eat Aglamesis!

  • I love to watch the Food Network. My new guilty pleasure (along with Lost), is Bobby Flay's Throwdown!

  • I still love Beefaroni even though I am not 8 years old.

  • I could spend hours on end at the home improvement store picking out paint colors for my house.

  • I cannot wait to buy a new car in the near future - hopefully a hybrid!

  • I do not like to drink water - I would rather drink an ice cold glass of milk.

  • Autumn is my favorite season, but I am definitely enjoying spring and taking walks with my daughter!

Feel free to post if you have not been tagged with fun stuff! Happy Earth Day to all, and thank you to Elizabeth Anne Designs for sharing some of our monograms and an inspiration board.

Please Vote for a Beach Inspired Wedding!

Jason Angelini Photography is hosting an inspiration board contest. If you have a moment and the inclination, PLEASE VOTE for my board (#1). This board is my vision for a wedding if my husband and I were to do it all over again in Florida - my home away from home. The best part is that $50 will go to the charity of the winner's choosing!

Blog Action Day

Today, October 15th, many bloggers have united to discuss a very important topic - the environment. Blog Action Day focused on getting people to talk about working towards a better future.

I have recently started looking into adding a "green" line of invitations for Lucky Designs. As much as I love to create beautiful, custom stationery for my customers, I do realize the impact that this business may have on the environment. I try and recycle scraps and unused paper as much as possible. Is this a choice you would be interested in as a bride or customer of Lucky Designs?

In the mean time, I do like to use The Paper Mill Store. The Paper Mill Store "uses 100% wind power a renewable energy source certified by Green-e. With this purchase of ;green power,' we are recognized as a Partner in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Green Power Partnership and Green Power Leadership Club. "

The Green Challenge

I have been tagged by Laura at Soiree Special Events . The challenge: What are you doing to introduce environmental sustainability into your daily life? Throughout college, I greatly enjoyed being part of beach cleanups and many environmentally challenging activities. However, I have to admit, I did not continue with those practices until my husband became part of my life. He is very thoughtful and conscious of the environment.

  1. We recycle everyday in our household! My husband has to yell at me occasionally, but I am trying very hard to remember to put my milk containers in the correct trash can.
  2. My husband and I are lucky enough to carpool when we are able. Saving gas these days not only helps the environment, but helps our wallets.
  3. I also love to visit Half Price Books. Not only can you purchase gently used books and magazines, but you are able to sell your reading material when you are done so someone else can enjoy it rather than having it take up landfill space!
  4. Finally, we are hoping to purchase a hybrid car when it comes time to replace one of our cars!

Please share your green ideas!
