Sarah over at Toast and Tables, posted lovely holiday ideas in pink and green. I have to say this is one of my favorite combinations for any event, including the holidays. I thought these ideas would be a nice way to start off this week, since there is a bit of snow on the ground, and it is only nineteen degrees outside! I think my favorite part is the damask pillow from the Etsy shop, Paco and Lupe - it reminds me of this beautiful wedding from Modern Bride magazine.

I can't believe it - the weather forecast for tonight includes snow! I absolutely love it when it snows. I don't even mind driving in it all that much. I am going to leave you today with a short post, because my husband and I are off to Indianapolis to see the Pacers play the Phoenix Suns!! I cannot wait to see the Suns in person. It is our mini-babymoon to celebrate the first day of my third trimester. Tomorrow we are going to see a Xavier Musketeers game as well. It is a basketball kind of week. I love it. I can't say that purple has ever been on my list of favorite colors, but it is now! I have recently come across many stunning examples of weddings incorporating purple. This wedding from photographer Ryan Phillips is no exception. The dress, flowers, tables, and of course the bride and groom are beautiful. Below I have also included a few ideas that seem holidayish to me incorporating purple and silver.

I was browsing through The Knot's Most Daring Wedding dresses (via Blush). This seems like a good follow-up to Friday's monogram! A beautiful dress - perhaps more for the Oscar's?

Although my list is not quite as long or extensive as Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book, I love to rave about my favorite wedding vendors. (I have added their contact information on the left column of the blog.) Cincinnati Urban Floral Design was started by Jennifer Shorten. Her family has been friends with my husband's family for some time as I understand it. My mother-in-law recommended her when I was in search of a florist for my wedding. Jennifer's style and attitude were right in-line with mine and my husband's. Her shop is full of color and wonderful smells. I love her work, and my bouquet could not have been more perfect.
I am going to revisit my holiday color palatte, but with a wedding in mind. Lisa Lefowitz's beautiful pictures capture a bright, cheerful event. I love the long table, and simple centerpieces.

Simply Sparkling Events has many beautiful details on their blog, but this one in particular caught my eye (the wedding of Jennifer Skog). Why - it is black and white of course! My favorite color combination. (Jessica over at Tying the Knot, and Darci at With This Ring are also in looking for some black and white inspiration - hope this helps!)

I want to congratulate one of my best friends, Jeannie, and now her fiance Rob! I have been hearing the secret proposal plans for weeks now, through my friends in Florida. Jeannie is getting ordained this weekend, but Rob came down early to surprise Jeannie with a romantic proposal on the beach. I got a phone call from Jeannie, and she has never sounded more excited! I am so happy for them.
I, of course, already have ideas in mind for their wedding!! I love the idea of aqua and champagne for a Florida wedding...

As you know, I always enjoy looking through photographers' blogs. The Regeti's Blog is a favorite of mine and of the Cincinnati board on The Knot! Maggie and Ty's wedding caught my eye today - the autumn colors of their wedding are amazing!

I saw this in the October 1st issue of In Touch magazine at the gym tonight, and I had to share it. A bride in China wore a gown with a 92 foot train!
I considered many colors combination for my wedding - blue, black, and white being one of them. I love cobalt glass, and when I stumbled upon InStyle Wedding's 25 Best Cakes with a cake with just that scheme, I had to put together a storyboard.

Black and white are one my favorite color combinations (see here & here) My husband and I really felt like those colors complimented the art deco setting for our wedding. We went through many variations of a monogram to use on our invitations, banner for the ceremony, and menus, and other details. Here is the monogram that we chose: 
I am always trying to create other monograms that we could have used, but my husband always says ours was perfect for us. Here is a new standard monogram for those who love black and white! Enjoy your weekend.

Of late, our life has been full of projects. This has pleased me very much. As I admire many of the ideas captured in the blogs my daughter brings to my attention, I add new projects to the list that she and I would like to tackle. We want to reupholster a piece of furniture, raise organic vegetables, furnish and decorate a nursery, and one day in the near future open a storefront for Lucky Designs, our family business.
This moment in both our lives seems like an opportune time to put together all the beautiful, sentimental items we have gathered for Erin's wedding scrapbook . We are fairly consumed by all kinds of paper. One site I have been visiting is Lifetime Moments. Erin and Tim's wedding was a remarkable moment in all of our lifetimes. It took place in a beautiful, historic landmark, Union Terminal. I want the scrapbook we create to do justice to the elegant venue and bride and groom. My husband and I had a action packed weekend. It started on Friday night at The Cincinnati Museum Center with a rehearsal for the wedding (his first ceremony). The rehearsal went well, and it was so nice to visit one of our favorite buildings again. Saturday I was able to get away to Mitchell's for a little R&R and get my nails done. It was such a nice treat.
Saturday at 7pm, my husband welcomed the guests to Union Terminal. I was very proud to be his date. He did a wonderful job making the ceremony personal, light, and humorous. I am hoping he continues with other ceremonies!
Sunday we were up bright and early for the Cincinnati Tennis ATP Masters Series. My husband has not only turned me into a huge basketball fan, but I have a new found appreciation for tennis as well. Watching Roger Federer in person was amazing. Watching him win his 50th career tournament was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Our excitement continues this week with my 12 week check-up at the doctor. We will get to hear the heartbeat again.
Anna recently contacted Lucky Designs for her April 2008 wedding. We worked together on save-the-date magnets. I think they turned out quite well, and I am looking forward to working with Anna and Shane on their invitations. Happy Planning!
