Lucky Baby's Birthday

I have to say that my husband is very thoughtful. I am surprised more often than not with flowers when it is his turn to go to the grocery store. I noticed that he often brings home daisies. I completely agree with him. They are sweet, cheerful, and easy to take care of. This seemed like a perfect theme to use for Lucky Baby's first birthday party this spring. (I really cannot believe it has been almost a year already.) I chose daisies for a motif and navy and yellow for our colors. Yes, I am a bit obsessive. Yes, she won't remember. However, I want it to be special, and there will always be pictures. The invitation is also in the works of course. I will share them after they are completed. Here is a quick inspiration board I put together for the party. I feel so hip considering that I picked one of the chic color combinations for 2009 according to Kathryn!

Red and White Holiday

This board began with the bridesmaid. I love the monochromatic bouquet against the grey dress. I also added a perfect bouquet from Janie Medley Flora Design - can't go wrong there. The buckle is such a nice detail.

Finally Winter

There was the smallest accumulation of snow today. I broke out my scarf and gloves. I just love the snow. I felt inspired to put together a warm, welcoming board today.

Winter White

My husband and I had a chance to sneak out to a performance of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra this weekend. They were playing one of my favorite pieces - Jupiter by Holst (part of The Planets Suite). I loved performing it, and I love listening to it - especially now since it was part of our wedding ceremony. Pink Frost

This board reminds me of the lipstick I use to wear in 7th grade for a school dance! The super frosty pink cakey lipstick. I loved it.

Another Try at Yellow

How was your weekend? I am seeing the first bit of snow here in Cincinnati! I thought I would take another stab at my yellow board. I do not think this one is any more wintery than the last one, but I love grey and yellow! Stop back this week for a definite winter board and the continuation of our honeymoon story.

A Season for Yellow

My goal this morning was to create an inspiration board for a winter wedding using yellow. However, I feel like I did not accomplish that! I am very happy with this board, but feel it is more a spring event. I love the idea of a causal, comfortable, backyard wedding. Milk and cookies for the children, lovely necklaces for the bridal party, and a monogram to tie if all together!

Cincinnati Vendors at Work

Soft Colors

Anemones are one of my favorite flowers. I had to include this bouquet in a board.
FYI - Lucky Designs will be closed Friday, October 13st and Monday, November 3rd. We will answer emails and begin processing orders again on Tuesday in the order in which they were received. We are off to Nashville!
