Fall is Here!

Fall has officially arrived on the calendar, but the mercury definitely does not reflect that here in Ohio yet! I love fall - I always say it is my husband's and my season (since our anniversary is in October). I love bookmark favors, and these are perfect for the autumn. Here is a sneak peak of Tami's invitations for her Floridian butterfly garden autumnal wedding! More pictures to come...

As promised, here are the bridal shower invitations. Congratulations Tami and Jeannie. Have a wonderful time this weekend!

Spotlight on Us!

A few months ago, I blogged about Amanda and Gregory's invitations. Well, this Blissful Bride has started her own blog, and recently posted about her experience with Lucky Designs. Thank you Amanda for your kind words. I enjoyed being a small part of your event!

Newlyweds!

I cannot believe it has been two months since Emily and Tony's wedding! It seems only yesterday I put together this inspiration board for them. It was a wonderful night, and my husband and I enjoyed our first big date night since the arrival of Lucky Baby. I recently received an email from Emily sharing some of her pictures! Here are a few details, including their invitations.

Bridal Shower

My roommate in college, Amanda, is Martha Stewart in another life. I never knew how to throw a proper party until I met her! She is the queen bee of theme parties. Now, a maid of honor - her party planning skills are at work again. She called in Lucky Designs to help with stationery. Here is a sneak peek of the bridal shower invitations. I will make sure to post more pictures once they have been received by the guests.

New Standards for Friday!

I do not have a standard monogram for you today, however I am so excited to announce the first standard invitation designs are ready! I truly love creating custom stationery, but it is not always practical. Lucky Designs is offering 5 designs at this time, and we hope to add more options in the coming months (i.e. pocketfolds). Not only are our standard invitations available, but a matching wedding website is also available from Our Wedding Plus. Rhonda contacted me several months ago, offering to work with us on our standard designs. We are so excited to be affiliated with Our Wedding Plus. A wedding website is such a great resource for your guests. Please stop by and check out all their great templates, including those featuring coordinating patterns from Lucky Designs. STAY TUNED - another exciting announcement coming this afternoon!!

Amanda and Gregory Part 2

I mentioned previously that I would share more photos of Amanda and Gregory's pocketfold invitations, so here they are!

Coming Soon!

I am very excited to announce that pre-packaged invitations from Lucky Designs are in the works! We are hoping to have 5 designs available to our customers by summer. Please feel free to leave us a comment if there are other stationery items you would like to see from us. We love customer feedback! Here is a sneak peek at one of the designs.

Best Wishes Amanda and Gregory

This is the best way to start the day - an email (about invitations) from a happy bride-to-be!

"I received them today and they are gorgeous! I honestly couldn't be more pleased. They are far better than I had ever imagined. Thank you so much for everything. I can't wait to send them out!"

A sneak peek at Amanda and Gregory's invitations. Don't you love the rich color combination of burgundy and rose that they chose?

(More pictures coming soon...)

Announcing Lucky Baby

I wanted to share some of our baby announcements that did not make the cut. Because Lucky Baby's announcements are a fairly natural extension of my baby shower invitations, the design was easy! They will be delivered in green envelopes with wrap around labels, like just the invitations.

Congratulations Anne and Adam

Lucky Designs had the pleasure of working with Anne and Adam last fall. Their autumnal wedding invitations turned out lovely - using chocolate brown gatefolds, burnt orange satin ribbon and Swarovski crystals. Anne was nice enough to share some pictures from their big day. We wish them all the best!

Modern Dots

A sneak peek at a recent customer's pocketfold. I love the purple cardstock with the rich chocolate envelope.

Sneak Peek

Here is a glimpse of Emily and Tony's invitations for their May wedding. (The damask box was a perfect package for delivery.)

{Guest Blog - Lupe} Lucky Baby Shower Invitations

My daughter Erin returned home to live in Cincinnati nearly three years ago. I frequently catch myself thinking about how fortunate I am to have a daughter and how much fun we have together shopping, working in our family business, Lucky Designs, or just having a meal together with the rest of our family. The fact that Erin and my son-in-law Tim are about to have their first child has me ready to implode with happiness. We are planning a family shower for Erin [which we decided not to make a surprise since she is way too nosey!]. Erin's friend and matron of honor, Melissa and Tim's mother and I are planning this soiree. The planning is great fun and I am looking forward to the afternoon of the shower. However, it fell to me to plan the invitations for the designer behind Lucky Designs. Yikes! Please check out the finished design below. The invites were created in Lucky Baby colors - Kelly green, black and white. Now, that the word is out, the planning continues. More details later - after the event, since I am pretty sure Erin will be checking the blog and some things do need to be kept secret after all.

Invitations

I said yesterday that I will follow up with pictures of the ordination invitation final drafts. Here they are...

Some of My Favorite Customers

I have to say that my friends and family have been so supportive of Lucky Designs. It is enjoyable to be part of their events. My friend Jeannie is being ordained this fall. She and I have been working together to come up with a simple and semi-formal design. Here are a few of the ideas we bounced around. I will post pictures of the final draft tomorrow.

Green and Brown Inspiration

As I mentioned yesterday, my husband's friends set a date for their wedding - May 31st. The bride has already asked for my help on her save the dates, invitations, and more. The wheels are turning. She mentioned that she loved the color combination of green and brown. There have been many beautiful weddings that would easily inspire a bride to pick this palette. Here are just a few ideas I put together for Emily and Tony. Congrats!

Brown and Blue

I am back from vacation. We had a wonderful time sun tanning, relaxing, and reading.

One color combination that is near and dear to my heart is blue and brown. When Lucky Designs began, I wanted colors and logos that represented my style, but were appealing to many. Blue and brown can be modern yet romantic; classic yet fun. I think these two colors can appeal to a large audience.

My husband, the newly ordained Reverend, will be performing the ceremony of his friends on August 18th. I, on the other hand, have been working behind the scenes with the bride on save the dates, invitations, and programs. She and her fiance wanted a modern, casual feel to the stationary. Without further ado, here are a few shots of their invitations. Programs coming soon!

I have also put together this story board for any other brides that are using this color combination. It includes beautiful cakes from The Cake Girls, a bridesmaid dress from Jim Hjelm, favors from Harvard Sweet Boutique and fun shoes from Nine West.

Lucky Sevens!

My matron of honor was very helpful all through my wedding planning. So naturally, when she came and asked for help with her sister's invitations, I was happy to be involved. Lynda and Mike picked the very lucky date of July seventh. They wanted their summer wedding to have a comfortable, laid back feel. Lynda toyed with the idea of a "Fourth of July" theme, but ended up picking some of this season's trendy combinations - navy blue and pink. Stardream metallic papers lent themselves well for her invitations. A beautiful gatefold sealed with her monogram set the tone very well for their summer wedding. The script font is carried throughout, from the monogram to the directions.
