TGIF - Monogram Friday

I am going to try and post a new standard monogram each Friday. I am going overboard a little today to get things started. (These will be available on the website soon.) My mom will be back as a guest blogger - next week is going to be a scrapbook and craft week! Enjoy your weekend.

Let Them Eat Cake

My husband and I are greatly looking forward to our anniversary cake from Take the Cake in Cincinnati. I cannot believe that he and I are already talking about our first anniversary. Oh how time flies - October is right around the corner!

Yesterday I shared one of my favorite weddings that inspired me throughout my planning. The amazing cakes were created by Jim Smeal (Charleston, South Carolina). I love the idea of three cakes side-by-side. Here are a few more of Jim Smeal's creations from his website.

Southern Charm

An article I immediately ripped from Modern Bride (June+July 2006), was a Charleston reception designed by Modern Bride and Tara Guerard. The use of wallpaper (by Ann Yancy) throughout the decor was an amazing idea. The paisley pattern brought unity to the ceremony and reception. The lounge area was stunning, yet inviting.

Enough!

I know this is probably redundant by now, but I cannot resist black, white or a damask pattern.

It is Official

My good friend Jeannie, who was part of my wedding ceremony, will be ordained this October. She and I are working on invitations and announcements for her ceremony. I will make sure to post pictures when we are done. Congrats Jean!!

Baby Molly

Here are custom baby announcements made by Lucky Designs for good friends of my husband. (I have blurred out the last name to protect the innocent - they don't really look like that!)

Photoshop

After attending my workshop last week, I was reminded of how amazing this software is. I think one of my favorite tools is turning a regular photograph into a line drawing - very straight-forward, but very cool. Here is an example.

Florida Pink

As I stated previously, I love to look at real weddings and photographer's websites for inspiration. Life with Caroline is a wonderful blog filled with beautiful pictures. A wedding in particular that captured my attention was one that took place at the Don CeSar on St. Pete Beach. St. Petersburg, Florida is my old stomping grounds and my home away from home. After attending Eckerd College, I lived in St. Pete for another 4 years. My roommates from college are still there, so I have lots of reasons to visit.

The pink palace is a bride's dream. Everywhere you turn - PINK!
I had to make an inspiration board to go with some of Caroline's beautiful pictures.

Fall Fashion

One reason to love Ohio is the change of seasons. Fall is definitely my favorite. I would love to find a maternity version of this Calvin Klein sweater dress for autumn. Any suggestions where to look?
I can't wait to buy new fall shoes too! I love the Mary Janes (from Nine West - middle, and Christian Louboutin - right). I know my husband would prefer that I wear some cute flats though. My heels make him very nervous!! (Kate Spade - left).

What new items will you be buying for the fall/winter season?

A New Look!

Our new website it up and running. Please take a look. We are still addressing a few kinks here and there, so bear with us. We look forward to hearing from you!

I am going to leave you this weekend with some recent personalized/monogrammed notecards I have made for friends and family.

Stamps

I love to receive and send snail mail. My husband makes fun of me, because I am probably the only person who still looks forward to going to the mailbox each day. Email is so convenient, but I love to send beautiful cards. I stopped by the Post Office today, and had to buy these stamps. They are so cute for summer cards.

Aisles and Tents

I will be out of the office tomorrow. I am attending a Photoshop workshop. I am looking forward to brushing up on some my skills, and hopefully learning a few new tricks. I will leave you with another wonderful photographer blog - be back on Friday. Fall is right around the corner.

Personalized signs

I am getting pretty excited about the chance to decorate a nursery. Of course there will have to be our baby's name or monogram or both on the walls! I love these signs from Drooz Studio. There are so many cute ideas out there, I am going to have a tough time narrowing down the colors, decor, etc.

Hurricane Dean

After a hurricane season of Charley, Frances, Jean, and more, I was not sad to leave St. Petersburg, Florida. That is one negative about living in the Sunshine State - waiting until the end of hurricane season.

It is strange to have your name on TV all the time as well!

We are thinking about all those effected by Hurricane Dean, and hope the outcome is for the best.

A Busy Weekend

My husband and I had a action packed weekend. It started on Friday night at The Cincinnati Museum Center with a rehearsal for the wedding (his first ceremony). The rehearsal went well, and it was so nice to visit one of our favorite buildings again. Saturday I was able to get away to Mitchell's for a little R&R and get my nails done. It was such a nice treat.

Saturday at 7pm, my husband welcomed the guests to Union Terminal. I was very proud to be his date. He did a wonderful job making the ceremony personal, light, and humorous. I am hoping he continues with other ceremonies!

Sunday we were up bright and early for the Cincinnati Tennis ATP Masters Series. My husband has not only turned me into a huge basketball fan, but I have a new found appreciation for tennis as well. Watching Roger Federer in person was amazing. Watching him win his 50th career tournament was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Our excitement continues this week with my 12 week check-up at the doctor. We will get to hear the heartbeat again.
